uOttawa’s Ambitions Magazine

The University of Ottawa’s Student Academic Success Service (SASS) has chosen Simzer Design to design & produce their new bilingual 54+ page magazine, titled AMBITIONS. A key factor to Simzer Design being selected was our nine year experience working with the University and our in-depth knowledge of uOttawa’s brand guidelines, which we had a part in creating.

Some of the Annual Reports, magazines and publications we have art directed include: uOttawa’s Telfer School of Management’s Annual Report and the Alumni Association, Sustainable Prosperity (SP) Policy Briefs and Annual Reports for the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), Orezone Resources, San Anton (now Kings Minerals), also many publications for Canadian Lung Association.

Sustainable Prosperity

Sustainable Prosperity is a national research and policy network, based at the University of Ottawa. With multiple policy briefs to be sent out on an ongoing basis, they needed us to design and produce an easy to read, and interesting document for handing out and posting online.

We met the challenge creating an efficient template with interesting imagery, which we use to create each policy brief.

University of Ottawa Awards Wall

The University of Ottawa’s Financial Resources Award of Excellence recognizes employees that achieve exceptional success. The University wanted to create an awards wall, to recognize the recipients, that was not only prestigious and classy, but one that could be easily updated. To add to the challenge, there was a specific budget and deadline. Simzer Design was engaged to design & project manage it from concept to final installation. Our strategic approach to the use of multiple materials to achieve the desired effect, kept the project on brand, time & budget.

The ‘Distinguished Canadian Leadership Awards’ event is to recognize, in a respectful and significant way, the unique and important accomplishments of truly distinguished Canadians. This is the 7th year we have designed the invite, the challenge every year is to come up with a new way to design and deliver the information in a simple and unique way.
